“In
2002, I was assigned as Privilege License
Administrator for the Town of Morrisville. I had
no prior experience of privilege license and learned
everything through reading the North Carolina City and
County Privilege License Taxes book and the North
Carolina General Statutes. In October of 2002, I
went to the North Carolina Association of Business
Licensing Officials Annual Conference where I met
Robin. Her knowledge is amazing. I learned
things at this conference that I would have never
learned from just reading the book and the statutes.
The
North Carolina General Statutes for privilege licenses
are mostly left to interpretation and there are so
many repeals that it makes it almost impossible to
determine what fees have been repealed and what fees
municipalities can charge.
I
have never asked Robin Lewis a privilege license
question that she has not researched and provided an
answer.
The
North Carolina Association of Business Licensing
Officials (NCABLO) could not ask for a better person
to teach at our seminars and annual conferences. “
